A few days back, RTV Castilla-La Mancha’s daily news reported that the Spanish Community ranked second in national rankings of accumulated wind power. According to the provided data, Castilla-La Mancha has a total of 139 wind farms, an installed capacity of 3,807 MW, and 2,984 wind turbines. These numbers attest to the successful development of a sector that names the region’s favorable weather conditions a great ally.
Naturally, in order to benefit from this energy potential, the infrastructure of a specialized company such as Eiffage Energy is needed. Our company was widely featured in RTV Castilla-La Mancha’s report thanks to our spokesman for this area, Mr. Daniel Garrido, the Renewable Energy Director at Eiffage Energy. As Mr. Garrido stated, “Castilla-La Mancha has a number of privileged areas for wind power, due to altitude and wind presence”. All this helps leverage wind currents as a source of energy that employs many local people thanks to our company.
As for specific figures, Eiffage Energy provides Castilla-La Mancha 44 wind farms and a total of 2,193 MW, representing approximately 60% of the region’s installed wind power. In Albacete alone, where there are 78 wind farms and an accumulated power of 2001,21 MW, our company installed 41 wind farms and can employs 650 specialized technicians, as part of a total workforce of 1,700 employees.
This is a summary of the contribution of Eiffage Energy in Castilla-La Mancha’s renewable energy sector, which is vital in employment creation in the Community. Also, as a pioneer wind energy provider in Spain, we are currently expanding our projects outside Spain’s borders to more than 10 countries, such as Belgium, Poland, France and Brasil, with a total of 80 wind farms, 3.000 MW of installed power, and 2.200 generators.
