Last Tuesday Eiffage Energía received two new AENOR certificates at its head office in Albacete that endorse the company’s efforts in the field of Occupational Health and Safety. The Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification has awarded two new accreditations reaffirming the commitment of Eiffage Energía to safety, health and quality.
The event was attended by the CEO of AENOR, Rafael García Meiro, the provincial director of Economy, Employment and Enterprise of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha, Nicolás Merino, and the CEO of Eiffage Energía, José Manuel Martínez.
The OHSAS 18001 standard, Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certificate and the Regulatory Audit of Occupational Risk Prevention Certificate are the two new AENOR certificates that Eiffage Energía has obtained. Both help to prevent occupational risks committing to continuous improvement within an Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
Eiffage Energía is firmly committed to a real integration of safety in all activities, highlighting the creation of the Joint Prevention Service, which today has more than 35 specialists in safety distributed throughout all the subsidiaries of the company.
Among the advantages of the OHSAS 18001 standard, Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certificate should be highlighted that it contributes to decreasing the number of workplace accidents and to increasing productivity. It allows to comply with legislation in the field of prevention, or it promotes a culture of prevention through the integration of prevention in the company’s general system.
The awarding of the new certificates also coincides with the celebration of the Occupational Health and Safety Week in the whole Eiffage Group. During this week we remind all workers in the group about the importance of complying with our 6 Key Points, as well as making them participants in local events to achieve our aim of being excellent in safety.
The Energy Branch Safety Week will take place from Monday 11 June to Friday 15 June 2018. During these days, all employees of all entities of the Energy Branch in France and internationally will be mobilised around this issue.
In Spain, within the activities planned for this week we have a session of about 30 minutes for all the Head Office workers.
Without doubt, we are facing one of the most important weeks for Eiffage Energía and the whole Eiffage group. The new AENOR certificates received and the celebration of the Occupational Health and Safety Week confirms the data collected at the end of 2017: the company’s number of workplace accidents have fallen by 88% in the last 7 years.
