If 2017 was the year of commitment for Eiffage Energía, it was also the year in which the multinational has achieved very good results in occupational risk prevention.
In its more than 30 local offices and in their different lines of action such as: electrical infrastructures, installations, maintenance, electro-medicine, renewable energies, civil engineering and construction, Eiffage Energía has reduced by 88% workplace accidents despite having a substantial increase in its workforce, currently exceeding 3,200 workers worldwide. A rate which has fallen between 2010 and 2017 although it is engaged in sectors with a high number of workplace accidents such as the construction of large infrastructures.
So explained recently the CEO of Eiffage Energía José Manuel Martínez, at the awarding of the certificate for Occupational Health and Safety at Work Management System OHSAS 18001 AENOR and the Regulatory Audit of Occupational Risk Prevention Certificate. The effort of the company in the field of safety, health and quality has yielded and is yielding results which are reflected in the excellent ratios achieved.
In 2015, the company launched the project ‘Awards for Excellence in Safety and Health‘ that rewarded excellence in prevention, with the aim of promoting the excellent behaviour of workers with greater exposure to occupational risks.
This initiative recognises the involvement in safety and health of the worker and his/her team. In it, among other actions, extensive inspections are carried out to reward the safer workers and correct the conduct of workers or collectives that do not comply with the requirements for achieving excellence.
These awards recognise the collective efforts of the whole Eiffage Energía Group with regard to safety measures and reductions in accident rates both locally and nationally.
To become leaders in prevention was one of our goals in 2017 and little by little we are getting there. From the health and safety department, training and information activities continue to be carried out to always ensure the safety of all workers in the company.
Thanks to Prevenblog for sharing Eiffage Energía’s news and good results in prevention.
