At Eiffage Energía, we continue to ensure that men and women have the same opportunities for access, participation, promotion, remuneration and job tenure in the group’s companies. The Equality Plan is Eiffage Energía’s commitment to equal opportunities. Accordingly, on 10 December, 2019, the third Equality Plan, which will remain in force until 2022, was signed with the aim of continuing to promote the principles of equal opportunities and diversity in the work teams.
Commitment to Equality
For Eiffage Energía, the commitment to equality is a fundamental line of action; proof of this is that it has had an Equality Plan since 2011. The main objective is to achieve equality between women and men and to eliminate any possible discrimination on the basis of sex. It also establishes the concrete objectives, the strategies and practices to achieve these, and the systems for monitoring and evaluating the goals. Eiffage Energía’s Equality Plan is structured in nine action areas: Employment; Professional Classification and Promotion; Training; Compensation Policy; Organisation of Working Time; Co-responsibility; Communication; Prevention and Action in Cases of Harassment; Guarantees for Victims of Gender Violence; and Occupational Health.
Equality Commission
The Equality Commission will evaluate the objectives and actions established in each of these areas. This Commission, now expanded to seven members, will monitor the plan closely. In addition, the Equality Commission may meet at the request of an employee or whenever there is a request for an evaluation of a situation of possible discrimination. Among the objectives set in this third Equality Plan, the following should be noted:
- The increase in the number of women hired;
- More training in equality for male and female employees;
- To continue with the remuneration policy that guarantees balance and equitable treatment without any discrimination based on gender or in any of the salary elements;
- To guarantee adequate protection in the workplace for female employees who are victims of gender-based violence.
This document is founded upon company’s sensitivity and concern about having a tool that safeguards the fundamental rights of all employees. At Eiffage Energía, we see clearly that the involvement of both management and the entire workforce in respecting and achieving equality is key to improving the working environment, optimising the team’s capabilities and, therefore, improving quality of life.
