The Board of Directors of Eiffage presented its 2019 annual accounts, which show turnover of 18,141 million euros, an increase of 9.4%. It was an exceptional year in Spain, where the Eiffage Energía Group achieved growth of more than 50%. The presentation of the 2019 Annual Accounts of the Eiffage Group was attended by the CEO and managing director of the Eiffage Energía Group, José Manuel Martínez. Consolidated net income increased by 15.3% to 725 million euros. In addition, the 7.7% increase in the turnover of the Énergie Systèmes area, of which Eiffage Energía is a part, rose by 7.7% to 4,480 million euros should be noted. According to Eiffage Group CFO Christian Cassayre, this is mainly due to international growth of 19%, which is largely attributable to Eiffage Energia. The Group’s current operating income amounted to 2,005 million euros, 8% higher than in 2018. Once again, Énergie Systèmes achieved good results, both in France and internationally, increasing its margin by 4.6% compared to the 4.4% of the previous year. Among the highlights, there have been important developments in highway concessions and airport concessions, as well as an increase in the order pipeline in all contracting divisions.
Carbon footprint reduction. Pioneering strategy.
In the words of the Eiffage Group’s chairman and CEO, Benoît de Ruffray, “in 2019, we have introduced an ambitious policy to heighten the Group’s awareness of the challenges of reducing its carbon footprint”. The Group has continued its strategy to reduce carbon emissions through an active awareness and training campaign for its employees. In this process, Eiffage has brought together a number of industrial partners around Sekoya, a platform dedicated to low-carbon materials and processes. The first call for solutions resulted in 57 French proposals for low-carbon emissions, five of which have been awarded.
Outlook for 2020
Looking ahead to 2020, activity is expected to continue to grow, with more moderate results in procurement and progressive growth in earnings. The more detailed presentation of the 2019 accounts, in French and English, is available on the company’s website (www.eiffage.com).
