Campanario photovoltaic megafarm. Through Eiffage Energía , Eiffage has just been awarded an EPC contract by Elawan Energy for the Campanario megafarm in Spain. The contract is worth more than 120 million euros. Located between Bonete and Higueruela (Albacete), the project includes the construction of 5 adjacent photovoltaic plants, each with 50 MWp. The total capacity will be 250 MWp. More than 563,000 solar modules will be installed, each with between 440 and 445 Wp, in an area of 400 hectares. Around 67 inverters will guarantee the transformation of the generated power. Electricity production will be centralized in a single power station, fitted with 3 transformers. Finally, a 3400 meter long evacuation line will be constructed to connect to Europe’s largest renewable energy collector. This connection is already supplied by several renewable energy facilities present in the region.
The Campanario photovoltaic megafarm will supply around 122,000 homes with an estimated annual production of 96.5 GW and will avoid the emission of over 187,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.
It will be completed by the end of 2021
The delivery of this new major piece of electrical infrastructure in Spain is planned for the end of 2021. Since 2010, Eiffage Énergie Systèmes has built 70 solar power stations around the world (Spain, Africa, South America and the Caribbean), with an installed capacity of over 2.3 GWp. During the first half of the year, the 35.6 MWp Torrijos photovoltaic power station in Novés (Spain) was opened, also built for Elawan Energy.
