Acciona Energy. Eiffage Energía has been awarded the operation and maintenance contract for Acciona Energía’s high-voltage facilities in Castilla-La Mancha for three years.
Company specialised in maintenance
This new contract cements a relationship that began in 2010 and which, we are proud to acknowledge, demonstrates that we have grown as a specialised maintenance company. And we have done so in close collaboration with one of the world’s leading renewable generation companies, declared the most sustainable utility on the planet in recent years, according to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index. Currently, we have more than 25 AT3 technicians expressly qualified to work with electrical risk, according to the most demanding safety standard of the sector led by Acciona Energía. This makes us one of the companies with the most technical specialists available to our clients to address situations related to the operation and maintenance of their facilities.
Quality of the work teams, tools and specialised services
In addition, we have had the opportunity to demonstrate the quality of the work teams, tools and specialised services that Eiffage Energía has at its disposal. In this regard, in the High Voltage Transformer Testing and Testing Service it is worth highlighting; Electrical Protection Testing and Testing Service in Substations; and the company’s own Aerial Inspection Service by Drones. With the latter, we inspected high-voltage overhead lines; Generation facilities; Substations; or wind turbines, among others. Acciona Energía’s demand for quality in its operations and its policy of ongoing investment in the continuous improvement of its assets has also allowed us to collaborate in a multitude of different projects. Projects within and beyond the scope of the operation and maintenance of high-voltage facilities, carrying out work typically associated with renovation of facilities and expansion of infrastructures, such as the installation and commissioning of photovoltaic self-consumption systems, relying in the latter case on our department specialised in photovoltaic solar energy, or the installation of charging points for electric cars.
Commitment to sustainability
This type of investment demonstrates Acciona Energía’s extraordinary commitment to the sustainability of its assets. We are convinced that we are supporting and accompanying them in a firm commitment to reduce our carbon footprint. This is one of Eiffage Energía’s objectives. In 2020, we created the Transversal Sustainability and Innovation Division – DSIT, following the Eiffage Group’s strategic vision, which places the shift towards a low-carbon model at the centre, through three lines of action: Innovation, Digital Transition and Ecological Transition. Undoubtedly, a step forward marked by the challenges related to ESG (environmental, social and good governance) issues. We are aware of the magnitude of the risks and opportunities associated with climate challenges. In this way, Eiffage Energía is actively joining the group’s commitments to follow the 2ºC pathway established in the 2015 Paris Agreement and with the United Nations 2030 Agenda. Contributing, through our CSR policies, to the Sustainable Development Goals – SDGs, as well as getting involved in corporate reporting on carbon footprint and climate, according to the TCFD recommendations.
