Naturgy Renovables has just put into operation the 22 MWp Miraflores solar farm, built by Eiffage Energía Sistemas in Castuera (Badajoz), with a budget of 5.6 million euros.
Naturgy was responsible for the preliminary design and Eiffage Energía Sistemas took care of the engineering, civil works and electrical installations.
The Miraflores photovoltaic plant was built on an area of 33 hectares. It has four transformer stations; three of 6,500 KVA; and one of 3,250 KVA, in addition to 1,416 units with 29 modules.
Actions to protect biodiversity
In addition, as one of the project’s compensatory measures, we have built a building for the lesser kestrel, a vulnerable species according to the Habitats Directive.
This building includes construction features that allow breeding (with artificial nests in nesting towers) and serve as shelter for the species. The building has two floors; the ground floor is for access to the interior of the building and the second floor is for observing and controlling the nests.
Other projects for Naturgy
For Naturgy Renovables we have also built another solar farm with similar characteristics, with 20 MWp and a budget of 5.6 million euros, in Canredondo (Guadalajara); as well as Tabernas I and Tabernas II farms, each with 50 MW, in Almería.
In addition, Naturgy has been a customer of Eiffage Energía Sistemas for wind projects, such as the 34.65 MW San Agustín wind farm, which we built in Aragón in 2019, between the provinces of Zaragoza and Teruel.
98 photovoltaic plants and 94 wind farms in Spain
Eiffage Energía Sistemas is one of the companies that has built the most renewable facilities in Spain: 94 wind farms, with a total installed power of more than 3.5 GW; and 98 photovoltaic plants, with more than 3.2 GW of capacity, accounting for more than 80% of the Eiffage Group’s renewables business worldwide.
This is how the company, headquartered in Albacete, avoids the emission of more than 15 million tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere per year, contributing to the energy transition as a strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by no later than 2050.
