The Provincial Government of Ciudad Real has entrusted Eiffage Energía Sistemas with the task of renewing the public lighting in the municipality of Picón. The objective is to replace the existing street lights with new LED technology ones, in accordance with the Municipal Sustainable Investment Strategic Plan.
This renovation has resulted in a reduction in energy consumption, from 47.94 kW to 26.02 kW. This leads to savings of 45.72% for the municipal coffers, as well as a reduction of more than 45 tonnes of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
“Ciudad Real, for a Low Carbon Economy”
This initiative is part of the comprehensive project “City of Ciudad Real, for a Low-Carbon Economy,” co-financed with European Regional Development Funds (ERDF). It has allowed for the adaptation of the municipality’s outdoor lighting installations to suit current regulations, in compliance with the Low Voltage Electrotechnical Regulations.
In total, 566 lighting points and five control centres have been renovated, and a remote management system that allows access to all lighting points through the Picón Local Government’s platform.
Additionally, ornamental lighting has been taken into consideration, with special attention given to the municipality’s historical heritage, including the church.
Commitment to energy efficiency
In this way, Eiffage Energía Sistemas continues to fulfil its commitment to energy efficiency, pursuing two clear objectives: reducing future electricity costs and conserving energy in many municipalities while promoting the economic, political, and environmental sustainability demanded by the world we inhabit.
Throughout its history, the installation and maintenance of lighting, primarily in urban areas, have been of great importance to Eiffage Energía Sistemas. The use of new technologies, equipment, and materials keeps the company at the forefront of an industry highly concerned with efficiency and service.
In recent years, the company has actively participated as an installation contractor, providing technical support, meeting economic, safety, and aesthetic needs, and executing projects that attest to its experience in numerous towns and cities.
