Eiffage Energía Sistemas is working on the electrical, mechanical, and telecommunications installations for the Functional Reform and Expansion Plan project at the Albacete University Hospital Complex (CHUA), under a contract awarded to the company OHLA.
The renovation and expansion of the CHUA involves the refurbishment of existing facilities and the launch of a new annex area, linked via walkways on various levels.
This healthcare facility will span a constructed area of 92,246 square metres, housing 696 beds and 25 operating theatres.
A pivotal element of the project is aligning the building with the Technical Building Code in terms of energy-saving and insulation systems, with the aim for the building to obtain a B energy certification.
Scope
The responsibilities of Eiffage Energía Sistemas include the installation of low and medium voltage electrical systems; a 166KWP photovoltaic system; air conditioning and ventilation systems; and electric vehicle charging stations.
Currently, approximately 60 percent of the work has been completed on the Day Hospital building, with the overall project reaching about 30 percent completion.
Other flagship projects
It should be highlighted that, along these same lines, Eiffage Energía Sistemas is providing the air conditioning, plumbing, and BMS for the new Teruel Hospital, thereby strengthening its presence in Spain’s northern region through the delivery of a distinctive project that showcases its technical expertise and capability. Similarly, in the High Resolution Hospital Center of Cazorla, Jaén, the company has built several installations, along with other similar projects.
These projects join Eiffage Energía Sistemas’ portfolio in the public health sector, where it has not only been involved in facility installations and the construction of new infrastructure, but also in maintenance work on existing centres.
