Eiffage Energía Sistemas Receives the VIII Environmental Award from Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport on World Environment Day

Eiffage Energía Sistemas has received the VIII Environmental Award from Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport today, in the Suppliers Category, coinciding with the celebration of World Environment Day.

This is an acknowledgement given by AENA to those companies that have demonstrated the best environmental performance during 2023.

In this regard, AENA highlights the notable improvement achieved by Eiffage Energía Sistemas in controlling environmental aspects, as well as in initiatives to improve its sustainability performance and compliance with applicable environmental legislation.

Best practices

The award was collected by Pedro González Martos, Director of Maintenance and Electromedicine at Eiffage Energía Sistemas, at a ceremony held in the press room of Terminal 3.

During his speech, González Martos gave a brief presentation on the best practices used by the company in its sustainability performance, one of the company’s strategic pillars.

Carbon neutrality

In this regard, he emphasised that Eiffage’s goal for 2050 is carbon neutrality, as outlined in the Climate Report of the parent company, Eiffage Energía Sistemas. Before that, by 2030, the company aims to reduce its internal CO2 emissions by 46% and its external emissions by 30%.

“Being exemplary in our own emissions is very important”, emphasized the Director of Maintenance and Electromedicine, explaining actions related to travel, consumption, and production.

Regarding external emissions, where the goal is to increase and enhance our low-carbon offerings, Pedro González Martos referred to emissions from construction and emissions over the entire life cycle of a building or structure.

Sustainable solutions

Using various examples, González Martos discussed sustainable solutions aimed at energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, and distributed generation.

Energy efficiency through the integral maintenance of buildings, energy refurbishment, efficient HVAC installations, smart lighting, Building Management Systems (BMS), or Energy Savings Certificates (CAEs).

Eiffage Energía Sistemas currently maintains more than 15,000 buildings and a surface area of over 2,400,000 square metres

Sustainable mobility. With the installation and maintenance of charging points, ad-hoc renewable generation, reservation-based charging management solutions, smart identification, or consumption monitoring, and smart charging – intelligent charging management.

More than 1,500 electric vehicle charging stations installed for clients.

Distributed generation: industrial/tertiary self-consumption, local energy communities, energy storage (batteries), energy vectors – green hydrogen, hybridization, and microgrids (energy management).

More than 4.8 GW of PV power installed and over 185 photovoltaic plants maintained.

The company has put in place a strategy to promote the ecological transition and implement a low-carbon model.

A commitment that combines all available technologies on the road to sustainability.
