Conscytec, the construction subsidiary of the Eiffage Energía Sistemas group, has been awarded a contract by the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha to build four supported housing units for people with intellectual disabilities in Guadalajara.
The project aims to develop a housing complex for people with intellectual disabilities, comprising:
- • Four housing units to accommodate around 32 people.
- Auxiliary and production rooms.
- Urban development of the complex.

Energy-efficient building
Technically, this construction is unique because the walls are load-bearing elements made with compressed earth blocks (CEB), a mixture of selected earth and lime.
Furthermore, the horizontal structures are mainly constructed with laminated timber.
Due to both the design and the specification of the facilities, it is a highly energy-efficient building.
These housing units are part of the network of supported housing for people with disabilities established by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha, managed by the Directorate General of Disability, Ministry of Social Welfare, which has invested €2.4 million in the project. They are staffed by a team of professional workers who ensure that people with disabilities are active participants in their own lives.
