Our CEO, José Manuel Martínez, spoke on Onda Cero Albacete, where, in addition to wishing all the people of Albacete happy annual festivities, he reviewed the milestones and activities of Eiffage Energía Sistemas in the province. A province where we have positioned ourselves as the leading company, with 5,073 employees—over 80% of whom are shareholders in the company—including around 1,200 in Castilla-La Mancha, the majority of them in Albacete.
Martínez highlighted that Eiffage Energía Sistemas is the principal turnkey photovoltaic plant constructor in Europe and the third-largest worldwide in terms of installed rated power. In this regard, Martínez emphasised the strategic importance of Albacete, stating that the city “is the world’s epicentre of renewable energy”.
Renewable energies
In terms of renewable energy, Martínez noted that in Castilla-La Mancha we have built more than 26 photovoltaic plants, totalling 1.3 GW. He also gave assurances that there are many new projects for this year and for 2025.
Activity in wind energy is also significant, with over 52 wind farms constructed in this region alone.
Low carbon strategy
Referring to the company’s low-carbon strategy—one of the cornerstones for Eiffage Energía Sistemas—our CEO highlighted that we are leaders in the installation and integration of electric vehicle charging infrastructure. This is evidenced by the more than 5,000 electric charging stations installed across the country and the internal measures that have been adopted. Eiffage Energía Sistemas is currently in the process of electrifying its fleet, with more than 2,500 vehicles nationwide.
Eiffage Energía Sistemas projects in the province of Albacete
Regarding projects in the province of Albacete, Martínez highlighted the University Hospital Complex, where we are working on the electrical, mechanical, and telecommunications installations as part of its Functional Refurbishment and Expansion Plan a Passivhaus residential development through our subsidiary Conscytec; the construction of a benchmark centre for Alzheimer’s care; and a geriatric hospital, among many other projects.
