Eiffage Energía Sistemas thanks the work of the more than 200 company employees who worked during the DANA

Since the DANA began, more than 200 Eiffage Energía Sistemas personnel have worked, in close collaboration with local authorities, in the areas of the provinces of Albacete and Valencia affected by the devastating consequences of this meteorological phenomenon. A tragedy that has caused the death of more than 220 people in our country.

Eiffage Energía Sistemas would like to thank all the workers who have been on the ground during the hardest days of this catastrophe, collaborating in the restoration of the electricity supply and re-establishing the service in the affected localities.

A huge THANK YOU to all of our colleagues who did not stop working during those days, carrying out a commendable job that went far beyond their duties.

A task that was also acknowledged by the president of the Red Eléctrica Group, now Redeia, Beatriz Corredor, through this video, where she mentions Eiffage as one of its suppliers, recognizing the efforts of all workers to return to normality.

In record time

It is worth noting, for example, that in record time, less than 36 hours, the electrical voltage was restored on more than 12 lines belonging to the Oliveral Substation (near Aldaya), thanks to the involvement of more than 25 people belonging to the Substations (AT), AT Maintenance departments and distribution personnel from Alicante, Murcia and Valencia.

Since Tuesday 29 October, workers in the Levante area have been working to restore the electricity supply, re-establishing service in many affected towns in Valencia.

Low voltage incidents were dealt with, connecting generator sets; acting in transformation centres; dealing with underground breakdowns; and actively collaborating in the replacement of damaged transformer substations.

Electrical infrastructure severely damaged

The heavy flooding severely damaged electrical infrastructure, uprooting power lines and electricity poles, leaving many homes without electricity and posing a security risk to the population.

Despite the adverse terrain conditions, our troops managed to reach areas where access was very limited.

As the sole contractor of Iberdrola in the Sagunto Sector, we were providing assistance throughout the sector, coordinating the means to also provide support to the Torrente area, which was the most affected town. In addition, we mobilized our teams in Murcia and Alicante to reinforce the Torrente Sector and reinforce our staff in the Sagunto area of action.

In the case of Letur, in Albacete, we supported the firefighters to remove the service on torn-out lines, with the aim of avoiding risks from electrical discharges and restoring the service in some areas without supply.

Materials and equipment used

In addition to the human team, we have several material resources such as eight trucks, two cranes, two backhoes, two backhoes, gondolas, a pulling machine, a braking machine, pulleys and tractels, concrete blocks, cables and towers. and towers.

The work has not yet been completed. The plan is to continue until the repair of all the affected lines and towers is completed, with a minimum completion estimate for the end of December 2024.

Currently, from our territorial delegation in Levante, we are still working intensively, both in the Sagunto Sector and in the Torrente Sector, with rotation of personnel, also on weekends.

Interventions in more than 20 Transformer Substations

We continue to provide generator set commissioning, connection and disconnection services. We have intervened in more than 20 Transformer Substations and we have worked in the replacement of switchgear, switchboards, cleaning or debris removal.

In addition, we have initiated the urgent construction of two medium voltage feeders for the municipalities that are currently supplied by generators.

In the most affected sector of the DANA, we have worked on the solution of a considerable number of low voltage faults and we continue working on the recovery of essential overhead lines of different Medium Voltage rings, both in the Sagunto and Torrente Sectors, where more than 20 Medium Voltage supports have been corrected and cleaned up.

At the Oliveral substation, the HV maintenance department continues to clean, grease and check 20 kV circuit breakers and 20 kV busbars. This work will continue for several weeks, until the installation is fully restored after the first intervention, which was critical.
