As part of the 2024 European Sustainable Development Week, which took place at the end of September, promoted by the Eiffage Group, Eiffage Energía Sistemas hosted a joint activity of all the branches of the company present in Spain. The aim was to make its commitment to sustainability visible and to serve as a reinforcement for its employees.
The meeting was attended by 60 managers from the divisions of Eiffage Energía Sistemas, Eiffage Construcción, Eiffage Metal and Eiffage Concesiones, as well as the streaming connection of more than 500 staff. The main objective was to promote a space for reflection and shared learning on the challenges and solutions of the ecological transition.
Strategic commitment to Ecological Transition
During his welcome speech, José Manuel Martínez, CEO of Eiffage Energía Sistemas and managing director of Eiffage in Spain, underlined the importance of sustainability as a centrepiece of Eiffage’s strategy in Spain. He also highlighted the Group’s achievements in its almost 45 years of presence in the country, consolidating its position as a key player in strategic sectors and as a leader in innovation and sustainability.
The Group’s companies in Spain currently have around 7,000 employees and a turnover in excess of 1.5 billion euros. Martínez pointed out that this growth “goes hand in hand with a firm commitment to social progress and environmental balance”.
In his address, he also highlighted Eiffage’s cross-cutting approach to a low-carbon model, structured around three fundamental pillars: Innovation, Digital Transition and Ecological Transition. “It is this strategic vision that positions us as a leader in sustainability, ensuring that our actions contribute to the well-being of the planet and people,” said Martínez.
A conference for reflection and action
The event featured an inspiring presentation by Hélène de Vestele, president of the organisation EDENI, who addressed the challenges of the ecological transition from a systemic perspective. Through interactive dynamics and innovative concepts. De Vestele offered practical tools to foster meaningful change in business and personal processes.
The seminar also featured a virtual presentation by Estelle Esmieu, Sustainable Officer Eiffage Benelux, who presented the Eiffage Group’s Sustainability Strategy, highlighting how the mainstreaming and integration of CSR in the general management ensures an effective implementation of actions in favour of the ecological transition.
A day to build the future
The activity was recorded in full and will soon be available to all Eiffage employees in Spain, reinforcing the Group’s commitment to sustainability and continuous training.
This meeting was a clear illustration of Eiffage’s leadership in the transition to a sustainable model, demonstrating that economic, social and environmental progress is possible when sustainability is integrated into the heart of business strategy.
