Cubillas Photovoltaic Solar Plant, built by Eiffage Energía Sistemas for X-Elio, has commenced operations. It is situated next to the reservoir of the same name, in Albolote, 20 km from Granada.
With a capacity of 35 MWp and an estimated output of 71,733 MWh/year this plant will generate clean energy equivalent to the consumption of more than 20,000 homes. Present at the opening ceremony were representatives of X-ELIO, local authorities and a team from Eiffage Energía Sistemas, headed by Daniel Garrido Rubio, Internacional Director and Head of de Renewable Energies, together with José Ignacio Rodríguez Vera, Head of Solar and Windpower Construction.
In his address, the CEO of X-ELIO, Fernando Lacaci, said that Cubillas Photovoltaic Solar Plant “is a clear example of our commitment to the energy transition in Andalusia. This project demonstrates our approach to developing and building in a responsible manner, applying environmental best practices, techniques and safety, while at the same time ensuring it has a positive impact on the local community “.
Evacuation, O&M
This project also includes the evacuation infrastructure, guaranteeing the efficient connection of the energy generated to the grid. Eiffage Energía Sistemas will also handle the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of the plant for the next 20 years, ensuring its optimal performance and efficiency over time. A new project that reinforces our commitment to the energy transition and the development of sustainable infrastructure.
Other projects with X-ELIO
Eiffage Energía Sistemas has worked on the construction and O&M of several wind farms, and their respective connection substations, developed by X-ELIO in southeastern Spain. Specifically, in the provinces of Albacete, Almeria and Murcia. These wind farms will be maintained by Eiffage Energía for 20 years and will prevent the emission of 221,510 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere per year.
A major development is the Lorca Solar photovoltaic facility, with 369 MWp of installed power, located in Zarcilla de Ramos, in the municipality of Lorca, in the province of Murcia. A project that also includes the electrical energy evacuation system. and that will be operational in a few months.
This plant will contribute during the first year by preventing the emission of around 148,328 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere. This project will also generate 748,000 MWh of 100% clean, sustainable energy during its first year and will supply the equivalent of 215,000 homes with annual consumption.
It is also worth mentioning another X-Elio photovoltaic plant in the Valencian Community. It is Turroneros II, in Jijona, Alicante. The plant produces 65,325 MWh per year, preventing the emission of 42,460 tonnes of CO2 per year and providing clean energy to more than 19,175 homes.
