Eiffage, through a UTE (Temporary Union of Companies) formed by Eiffage Energía and its subsidiaries Conscytec and Ambitec, has been awarded by Colonial, as sole contractor, the construction of the above ground level phase of its new and emblematic prime office building project in the innovation 22@ District of Barcelona.
In this way, Eiffage Energía and its subsidiaries place value on the group’s potential in singular building projects which integrate civil engineering and all the electrical, mechanical and special installations.
The new building, located in Ciutat de Granada street, has been designed by the architects Batlle and Roig and is geared to become a benchmark within the Premium sector of marketing for office spaces in Barcelona. With a budget of over 25 million euros, the building covers over 24,000m2, integrated into its height of 17 storeys, offering diaphanous floor areas of 1,800m2. With the works started last June and completion date scheduled for late August 2018, the project is expected to obtain the LEED Platinum sustainability certification , incorporating technical and finish specifications of the highest quality and energy efficiency.
Undoubtedly, this new award is one more step in positioning Conscytec, Eiffage Energía’s construction subsidiary, as Eiffage’s benchmark in the sector in Spain. In this respect, the company is currently taking part in the implementation of various projects, among which should be highlighted the refurbishment of the ‘Las Glorias’ shopping centre in Barcelona and the construction of a new shopping centre in Benidorm, both for Unibail-Rodamco; it has also taken part in the implementation of the office building ‘Torre 4 – Porta Firal’ in Barcelona for Iberdrola Inmobiliaria.
