Eiffage Energía closes 2017 with a turnover of 245 million euros, representing an increase of 18% over the previous year and exceeding 2,800 jobs in its current workforce. Facts that have recently been acknowledged with the Business Achievement Award, in the category “Job Creation Company”, awarded by the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha.
Within the international framework, during 2017, the company took on projects of major importance such as the EPC construction of the Huatacondo Photovoltaic Solar plant in Chile and the construction of the transmission line Azángaro-Juliaca-Puna 220 kV in Peru.
On the other hand, at the national level, the substantial improvement of the framework contract for the maintenance of the power lines of Low Voltage and Medium Voltage of Iberdrola’s distribution Network has been conducted, as well as the renewal of the framework contract for actions in Endesa’s distribution networks and the maintenance of the electro-medical equipment of all the Sanitas group’s health centres, clinics and hospitals.
With respect to subsidiaries, it is worth mentioning the project of the ventilation and refrigeration installation of the new line of paper production of S.A. Industrias Celulosa Aragonesa, in Burgo del Ebro (Zaragoza) through Ambitec, the Palau d’Esports Camp Clar Juegos del Mediterráneo 2018 through Inelbo, and the construction of the above ground level phase of Colonial’s prime new office building in the 22@ District of Barcelona awarded to Conscytec.
Eiffage Energía strengthened its position in the electro-medical market with the creation of the trademark Eiffage Biomedical and the incorporation of more than 70 highly qualified professionals of engineers and specialist technicians with wide experience in this sector. In addition, Eiffage Energía has also improved its position in the building sector maintenance market with the creation of a Services business unit, for national implementation, based on applying all the necessary tools to satisfy the needs of its clients adapting the new technologies to their own projects.
Significant decline in the number of accidents
The number of workplace accidents at Eiffage Energía has fallen by more than 80% in recent years. The index of severity has been reduced by more than 20% and almost 25% in the frequency index with sick leave.
Commitment to quality, the environment and energy efficiency
During 2017, Eiffage Energía received new AENOR certificates of quality in the comprehensive maintenance area, which has obtained the Certificate of Energy Management System and Certificate of Quality Management System in the electro-medical area. In turn, other certifications have also been renovated and adapted that guarantee Eiffage Energía’s commitment to sustainable environmental and energy development.
Along these lines and as the result of environmental policies and the energy efficiency implemented in Eiffage Energía, the Group has significantly reduced CO2 emissions. A continuous exercise for looking to a more sustainable future.
On the other hand, according to the latest reflected facts, the company has invested more than €270,000 in training, giving a total of 255 courses to 2,646 students. With an investment in training 50% higher than the previous year.
In short, Eiffage Energía has completed a year of challenges and goals met with the commitment and responsibility which is reflected in all its business lines and which it takes on in each of the projects it implements.
