The Eiffage Group’s Chairman and CEO Benoît de Ruffray chaired an Eiffage meeting in Spain at Eiffage Energía’s head office in Albacete, following the appointment of Eiffage Energía CEO José Manuel Martínez as Eiffage Group delegate in our country.
The Eiffage Group is one of the leading construction and concession companies in Europe and has been present in Spain for 40 years. Overall figures in Spain place the company in a privileged place, with 5,000 employees and a turnover of nearly 900 million euros.
Eiffage companies in Spain, Eiffage Energía, Eiffage Infraestructuras and Eiffage Metal, count on the support of the Eiffage Group and operate in different energy, infrastructure and metal sectors, developing high-quality and prestigious projects.
The new position of José Manuel Martínez at the head of the company entails a new responsibility, without hierarchical dimension, created by Eiffage in the different countries where it has a presence, to designate Eiffage’s main contact in the country in question, with the aim of strengthening the capacity to work in a coordinated manner.
In the words of the Chairman and CEO of the Eiffage Group, Benoît de Ruffray, “it is a priority to be recognised as an actor committed and aware of their social responsibility for the development of the country”. Therefore, to meet these challenges, Ruffray has appointed representatives of Eiffage in the different international locations.
Benoit de Ruffray assured the media that Eiffage is very important in Spain, highlighting renewable energy as one of the company’s most important lines of activity.

For his part, José Manuel Martínez stressed that this year the group has created about 1.4 GW of total power in Spain, between photovoltaic and wind energies, announcing that the trend towards 2020 is continuous with respect to investment in the renewable energy sector.
Employee shareholders
Martinez referred to the subject of employee shareholders, one of the subjects on which part of the seminar was focussed, assuring that for Eiffage Energía this initiative is very important because it involves the option of employee shareholding through a series of advantageous conditions. More than 80% of the workforce participates in Eiffage’s shareholding.
These shares are purchased each year thanks to the shareholding subscribed to by Eiffage employees during the increases in capital. An initiative which promotes the growth of the company and of each one of the workers who are part of it. “Eiffage’s main shareholders are the employees. It is the aim of social capitalism”, said Benoît de Ruffray.
The meeting held at Eiffage Energía’s head offices in Albacete brought together about 70 representatives of the three subsidiaries of Eiffage in Spain with three objectives: to present the road map; to present the overall results of the Eiffage Group and its strategy; and to introduce the 2020 campaign for employee shareholders in Eiffage.
