The delegate of Eiffage in Spain and CEO of Eiffage Energía, José Manuel Martínez, attended the inauguration ceremony of the Andévalo solar plant, designed and built by Eiffage Energía for Iberdrola . A plant that will guarantee 100% of Heineken Spain’s supply. The event was chaired by the chairman of Iberdrola, José Ignacio Sánchez Galán, accompanied by the director of corporate relations for Heineken Spain, Carmen Ponce and the president of Andalusia, JuanMa Moreno. The Andévalo solar plant is located in the Andalusian municipality of Puebla de Guzmán, in Huelva, and has 50 MW of power and 150,000 photovoltaic modules.
It will guarantee 100% of Heineken’s supply
It is located in an area of 150 hectares. The new plant will guarantee the supply of green electricity to the four HEINEKEN Spain factories and their offices. This facility is being built within the largest wind complex in Continental Europe, El Andévalo. A wind farm that has 292MW of power, and which has been promoted and managed by Iberdrola since 2010. The photovoltaic plant will prevent the atmosphere emission of more than 15,000 tons of CO2 per year. In addition, it will help to reactivate economic activity and employment. Solar energy is key in the energy transition promoted by Iberdrola, along with other sources of energy such as wind, land or marine. All of them integrated thanks to smart grids. The goal is to achieve a cleaner, more competitive and safer model. In short, for a truly sustainable tomorrow.
Other projects underway with Iberdrola
Iberdrola is one of Eiffage Energía’s main clients. So much so that last year Eiffage Energía received the Supplier of the Year Award from the electricity company. An acknowledgment of its responsibility, quality and safety; as well as for its contribution to the business. Applying its wealth of technological capacity, both in the area of renewables and in that of distribution networks. Thus, it should be noted that Eiffage Energía built for Iberdrola, in record time, the largest photovoltaic plant in Europe, located in Usagre (Badajoz), and that we are currently working on other major projects, in Castilla-La Mancha and Extremadura. In Castilla-La Mancha we are developing two photovoltaic plants in the province of Cuenca: Olmedilla and El Romeral, which will supply 50,000 families, with the hiring of local and regional companies and personnel.
Several solar plants in Extremadura
In Extremadura we work in Ceclavín, a plant with installed power of 328 Mw on an area of about 220 hectares and 863,280 modules. This project, which will have an investment of 250 million euros and which anticipates the hiring of some 1,000 people, will prevent the emission of 150,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere each year and will produce energy for about 210,000 people. Also in Cáceres, between the municipalities of Almaraz and Belvis de Monroy, preliminary work is being carried out on two photovoltaic plants, Arañuelo I and II, each with 50Mw of power, over an area of 210 hectares, with 259,680 modules. These two projects, which will prevent the atmospheric emission of 37,000 tons of CO2 each year, will supply clean energy to about 65,000 people and will allow the hiring of about 350 workers in the construction phase.
