We are celebrating Safety Week at Eiffage Energía under the slogan “Shared vigilance. We can all take action”. In this context, the Chairman and CEO of the EiffageGroup, Benoît de Ruffray, sent a message to all our employees through a video made on this occasion during his visit to Albacete. This week, all construction and service workers will stop work to carry out various actions aimed at eliminating potentially serious situations. To do so, they must identify risk situations, analyse them and propose preventive actions. One of the most important features of this Safety Week is that all actions to be carried out will be led by the chain of command. In this way, they reaffirm their commitment to employees in terms of health and safety.
Actions
On the one hand, an action common to the entire energy branchwill be developed, which will involve a shared analysis with all workers of the most serious potential accidents that could affect their activity. In this action, we will analyse accidents that have occurred in the Energy Branch in order to review preventive measures aimed at avoiding such potentially serious accidents. On the other hand, this Safety Week will be used to perform local actions, which will address the health and safety issues that most affect workers due to their specific activity.
The health of our workers, our greatest commitment
At Eiffage Energía, our main asset is our workers and their health is our greatest commitment. The figures speak for themselves: -60 prevention officers on staff. -38% decrease in the total number of occupational accidents (from 2019 to 2020). -20% improvement in the accident requiring time off frequency index. We have gone from an ATOFI of 59.76 in 2010 to 4.05 today.
Occupational health and welfare project
To make our commitment effective, we have designed five major attributes linked to each other and which, together, make up our company’s occupational health and wellness project. These blocks are: Health Promotion, Psychosocial Wellness, Physical Wellness, Healthy Eating and Sports Promotion. All of them are equally important and a priority for us. Proof of this is that they are all projects and initiatives we have been carrying out for years and that we will continue to perform.
