Sustainability and Transversal Innovation. Santiago Sanjuan has just been named director of Sustainability and Transversal Innovation at Eiffage Energía. This is a new area that has been created in line with Eiffage Group’s strategic vision. A strategic vision that places the change to a low-carbon model at the centre. And it will do so through three lines of action: Innovation, Digital Transition and Ecological Transition. This is a step forward marked by the challenges related to ESG (environmental, social and governance) issues. And, in particular, being aware of the magnitude of the risks and opportunities associated with the climate challenges. In this way, the group is actively committed to following the 2°C pathway set out in the 2015 Paris Agreement and to the United Nations 2030 Agenda. Thus, through its CSR policies, it contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals – SDGs. It is also committed to corporate reporting on carbon footprint and climate, as recommended by the TCFD.
An area that supports the sustainable nature of transversal innovation
For this reason, Eiffage Energia, aligned with the group’s carbon and climate strategy, has created this new Division of Sustainability and Transversal Innovation – DSIT. It does so by promoting the twin goal of integrating CSR management, particularly with regard to climate and environmental issues, and encouraging sustainable innovation in all its lines of business.
Eiffage Energía’s objective is an overall reduction in emissions across the value chain.
It has a close relationship with Eiffage Energía’s General Management. As a result, the new DSIT assumes responsibility for coordinating and managing the CSR strategy and incorporating it into the different operating entities, as well as for integrating differentiated, low-emission solutions into the offer.

Architect, with training in corporate sustainability and management
Santiago Sanjuan, who has been associated with Eiffage Energía since 2012, holding different positions of responsibility, has been named director of this new area. Sanjuan currently holds the position of director of Development at Conscytec, Eiffage Energía’s construction subsidiary. He is an architect specialising in building and urban planning, with executive training in corporate sustainability and management.
