The Tabernas I and II photovoltaic facilities in Almería, which we built for Naturgy., have recently been commissioned.
These are Naturgy’s first solar plants in Andalusia, and they will produce more than 228 GWh of energy per year and contribute to a reduction of over 145,200 tonnes of CO2 per year.
Tabernas I and II will also allow the use of other sources of conventional electricity generation to be phased out, thereby contributing to the energy transition process.
Civil and Electromechanical Works
The Civil and Electromechanical Works departments of Eiffage Energía Sistemas were involved in this project.
The following equipment was installed:
– 186,512 modules with 535 and 540 Wp.
– Over 530,000 linear metres of solar cable (4-6mm2).
– Close to 300,000 metres of LV aluminium XZ1 cable.
– Around 64,000 linear metres of 18/30KV medium voltage cable.
Local employment
These new infrastructures, the construction of which has taken a year, have created more than 700 jobs. Both direct and indirect jobs, during the construction; operation; as well as during the maintenance phase from now on.
Priority was given to hiring companies from Almería for the development, as well as personnel from nearby towns, such as Tabernas, Sorbas and Lucainena de las Torres.
