As every year, on 28th April we celebrated the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, and at Eiffage Energía Sistemas we joined in this celebration.
Today, scheduled breaks will be held at national level to remind all our employees of the importance of working in adequate safety conditions and to thank them for their outstanding commitment to health and safety through a message from our CEO, José Manuel Martínez.
Achieving a genuine safety and health culture at work is an ongoing process that needs to be pursued on a daily basis. That is why at Eiffage Energía Sistemas we have been systematically and continuously carrying out numerous activities that help us to work on its improvement.
Actions to promote a culture of prevention
There are many actions planned for this year 2023, with the aim of promoting a culture of prevention:
- “Vigila” awareness campaign. A campaign which, through educational material, talks and themed safety inspections, seeks to raise awareness throughout the organisation of the various risks present in our activity.
- Thorough review, involving the whole affected chain of command, of all accident investigation reports that are drawn up. The objective of this activity is to verify that the causes of accidents are correctly identified and that the preventive measures resulting from them are fully implemented. The aim is to precisely determine the immediate and basic causes of accidents and thus to be able to act directly on them.
Safety Week 2023
- Safety Week 2023. Eiffage Énergie Systémes organises a Safety Week every year. It does so in order to involve all workers in improving safety conditions at their workstations. This is done through a series of actions led by the chain of command.
- Design and implementation of a mobile app to make it easier and encourage the reporting of incidents and anomalies. We aim to compile as many of these events as possible to use them as an input for the base of our Bird/Heinrich Pyramid. The aim is to act quickly on as many incidents as possible. This means that the number of events at the other levels of the pyramid decreases proportionally.
Awareness-raising days
- Awareness-raising sessionsfor middle management led by the Department of Occupational Health and Safety of the Albacete Provincial Office of the Regional Ministry of Economy, Business and Employment of CLM. The objective in this case is to raise awareness in the chain of command of the importance of working under appropriate health and safety conditions.
- Tool Safety Standard. A catalogue of tools that meet minimum safety requirements is being drawn up in conjunction with the Procurement Department. This is an initiative to minimise risks to the greatest extent possible.
Excellent occupational accident rate data
Thanks to our employees’ unwavering commitment to safety and their work, we have excellent occupational accident figures that help us to advance towards our goal of Zero Accidents and to achieve excellence in Safety.
The accident rates at the end of the year 2022 were as follows: Frequency Rate of accidents involving time off work 3.00 (Target 3.20); Total Frequency Rate 13.16 (Target 18.00); Severity Rate 0.15 (Target 0.25).
Thank you all very much and let’s celebrate by working safely!
