Eiffage Energía Sistemas has built the Encamp-Grau Roig high-voltage line for Fuerzas Eléctricas de Andorra, which will triple Andorra’s electricity transmission capacity.
This allows Fuerzas Eléctricas de Andorra to meet the demand and growth of Andorra and to provide a service to new facilities, hotels, homes and ski resorts.
Andorra’s energy transition
As a result, it will be able to accommodate the growth resulting from the conversion from oil to electric heating, as well as the increase in electric mobility, among other factors. As part of the energy transition, FEDA’s aim is precisely to promote decarbonization and more sustainable mobility.
The new route is 17.5 kilometres long and has 71 pylons, all of which are located away from urban centres and on public land.
Scope of the project
The work consists of a new line, consisting of 69 towers, 2 x 110KV circuits, plus fibre optics.
Some 30 Eiffage Energía Sistemas employees were involved in this project, as well as 10 employees from the Eiffage Group in France, and others through subcontractors.
Sustainability
It is worth highlighting the important work carried out in the area of sustainability, given that Andorra is a country in the heart of the Pyrenees and everything related to environmental impact has a special connotation.
For this reason, work has been done on waste collection and the control of any type of paper or waste. Smoking has also been banned throughout the construction site, and many other measures have been taken.
