The OPI Awards the “Workplace Equality Promotion” Accolade to Eiffage Energía Sistemas

The OPI has awarded the “Workplace Equality Promotion” Accolade to Eiffage Energía Sistemas. This recognition is a nod to the social responsibility of companies that have excelled in their equality plans and implemented effective measures with a direct impact on their workforce.

Our company was visited by social agents as proponents of the OPI, eager to witness our exemplary practices first-hand.

This recognition comes with a financial incentive of 1,000 euros from the Provincial Council of Albacete, which Eiffage Energía Sistemas will invest in initiatives promoting equality.

Trade unions, employers and institutions

The Provincial Observatory for Equality in Labour Relations is an ongoing initiative championed by the social agents CCOOUGT and FEDA backed institutionally by the Castilla-La Mancha Regional Government, Provincial Council;  and the Albacete City Council, each from their respective equality departments. Its member entities also currently include the Castilla-La Mancha Women’s Institute and the Hellín Local Government.

The award ceremony, attended by the CEO of Eiffage Energía Sistemas, José Manuel Martínez, and the Director of Human Resources, Victoria Guerrero, was held at the “La Asunción” Cultural Centre in Albacete. It was attended by representatives of the institutions and social agents that make up the OPI: the councillor for Equality, Pilar Callado; the provincial councillor for Equality, Lola Serrano; the mayor of Albacete, Manuel Serrano; the president of FEDA, Artemio Pérez; the provincial secretary of CC.OO., Carmen Juste, and the secretary of UGT, Francisco Javier González.

Rigorous work

The institutional and social representatives commended the diligent efforts over the past four years by the Provincial Observatory for Equality and Labour Relations in Albacete to advance the development of Equality Plans. They also applauded Eiffage Energía Sistemas for its commitment to workplace equality.

Human Resources Director Victoria Guerrero expressed gratitude for this recognition on behalf of the group, highlighting its Fourth Equality Plan, encompassing eight companies. “It is a national plan that has been negotiated with the trade unions CCOO, UGT and ELA”, Guerrero explained, stressing that “we want to increase the recruitment of women, but there are certain selection processes in which no women apply”.

To address this, Guerrero added, “the plan is designed to run initiatives to offer information at schools, colleges, universities, etc., about the profiles the company seeks; internal promotions; functional mobility within the company; and, chiefly, to focus on training”.

4th Eiffage Energía Sistemas Equality Plan

Spanning four years, this plan aims to improve the working environment, facilitate talent retention, combat discrimination, embody our group’s values, abolish outdated norms, and promote a work-life balance and shared responsibilities.

Noteworthy initiatives include improved maternity leave, a specific protocol for gender violence victims, boosting corporate promotions by encouraging employee participation in new job openings, significantly increasing partnership agreements with universities, vocational training institutes, and secondary education institutes; collaboration with the Albacete Women’s Institute; and participating in the Iberdrola-Unicef Alliance to aid the inclusion of individuals in vulnerable situations.

Furthermore, an employee suggestion box is in place, allowing any staff member to propose improvements to the plan, which the Monitoring Committee will review.

The OPI plays a significant role in supporting Equal Opportunity policies in companies and social awareness in the same context.

During the same event, a group of companies that opted to take part in the Observatory’s participatory phase were acknowledged, focusing on two very specific areas: Inclusive and non-sexist advertising/communication; and access to employment and occupational segregation. The companies mentioned were Tecon Soluciones Informáticas, S.L; Parcisa, S.L.U; Parcitank, S.A; and Laboratorios Vinfer, S.A.

4th Work report and analysis of equality variables

The Observatory has recently presented its 4th work report and analysis of quality variables in labour relations, based on the responses of 66 companies and 888 workers throughout the province.

As part of this, a guide to prevent and combat gender violence in the workplace has been developed. Its reports include an analysis of variables; public data from our province from the Registry and filed collective bargaining agreements; collective labour agreements, and equality plans focusing on training, equal pay measures, affirmative action, shared responsibilities, and gender violence. This analysis will be updated annually.
