Eiffage Energía Sistemas has received the Iberdrola Award for “Job creation and labour integration” for our outstanding contribution to the Iberdrola and UNICEF Alliance, a programme that promotes the training and employability of young people in vulnerable situations.
This is one of the Iberdrola Supplier of the Year Awards 2024, which were presented yesterday at the Iberdrola Tower in Bilbao. An event held annually to highlight Iberdrola’s strategic allies committed to innovation, equality, quality, sustainability and job creation.
With this award, Iberdrola aims to give value to the work of suppliers that employ vulnerable people or those at risk of exclusion, demonstrating that business growth can go hand in hand with social well-being and equal opportunities.
The event, chaired by Ignacio Galán, who had words of support for the companies affected by last week’s tragedy in Valencia, was attended by the CEO of Eiffage Energía Sistemas, José Manuel Martínez, and the national director of Installations and Networks, Domingo Molina.
Committed to inclusive employability
Our Human Resources, Legal and Quality Director, Victoria Guerrero, was in charge of receiving this recognition, accompanied by the CEO of Eiffage Energía Sistemas, José Manuel Martínez, and the National Director of Installations and Networks, Domingo Molina.
This award reinforces our commitment to continue growing in this direction and gives us the strength to continue innovating in our hiring and career development policies, always looking for ways to improve and contribute positively to our society. Currently, we are continuing with the project to continue providing employment opportunities, both in terms of internships and hiring, to successive promotions of young people in the Alliance.
Iberdrola and UNICEF Alliance
In April 2022, Iberdrola invited us to join the Iberdrola Unicef Alliance, which works with young people in vulnerable situations to provide them with employment opportunities. The project consists of training young people at risk of exclusion to achieve their labour and social inclusion. At Eiffage Energía Sistemas, we have periodically attended meetings with Iberdola, Unicef, other Companies belonging to the Alliance and the social entities involved in the social part, to create specific actions with the aim of promoting this Alliance. Cesal, Pinardi and Norte Joven are some of the associations with which we have collaborated within the framework of this project. Iberdola and Unicef train these young people in professions related to the field of Energy Transition and Climate Action; and the social entities are responsible for supporting them at a social level. Eiffage Energía Sistema has collaborated by giving a technical Master Class in some centres and by making visits to our photovoltaic plants with the students who have completed the training. And, above all, we collaborate by offering employment opportunities to the students. Since the beginning of the project, we have given 14 young people the opportunity to do internships with us. We currently have three of these young people on staff. With this project, we actively contribute to creating a better society This award reflects our commitment to building an inclusive and opportunity-filled work environment that adds value to our community and our sector.
Best Supplier Award in 2019
This award is in addition to the Special Prize for Best Supplier of the Year received in 2019 by Iberdrola, awarded at that time for our responsibility, quality and safety and our contribution to the business, applying our great technological capacity, both in the area of renewables and in that of distribution networks.
